New Ovarian Cancer Screening Study

The Mid-Atlantic Cancer Genetics Network (MACGN) is taking part in a nationwide research study aimed at determining the effectiveness of measuring CA125 for the early detection of ovarian cancer. CA125 is a biomarker, or protein, which is found in the blood using a simple blood test.

Women with a family history of ovarian and/or breast cancer may be eligible to participate. If you are interested in participating in this study, or if you would like more information, please contact Tara Friebel, MPH, at 410-502-7660 or 1-877-880-6188 (toll-free). This study has been approved by the Johns Hopkins Institutional Review Board for Human Subjects Protection.

The MACGN is part of the national Cancer Genetics Network sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. The 'MACGN' s primary aim is to help families, researchers and physicians learn more about cancer and genetics.
