The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) offers a comprehensive cancer genetics curriculum entitled, "Cancer Genetics and Cancer Predisposition Testing." Composed of two volumes, the curriculum contains over 300 slides and accompanying speaker notes. It is a useful reference and teaching tool. Volume 1 covers basic genetics, mutation detection methods, cancer risk assessment, the genetic testing process, and ethical, legal, and social issues. Volume 2 covers colorectal cancer, breast/ovarian cancer, pediatric cancers, multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2, and melanoma. The slides are also available on CD-ROM, allowing for customized printing of speaker notes and presentations via computer projection. It sells for $349 for non-ASCO members, $389 with CD-ROM.
