Line CGN Funding Available for Collaborative Research in Cancer Genetics

    Funding is available from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for collaborative projects that use the Cancer Genetics Network (CGN). The express purpose of the Cancer Genetics Network is to facilitate research that is dependent upon large numbers of study participants. Since the CGN started this past year, proposals for pilot projects that test the Network are requested by the NCI. Projects can be for research in inherited cancer susceptibility, gene discovery, or the ethical, psychosocial, and legal issues surrounding cancer genetics. This funding is only available to investigators at the eight CGN centers, and is intended for collaborations between the CGN sites. Investigators at Johns Hopkins or any of the participating MACGN institutions are invited to submit proposals. The proposals can be for start-up collaborations, or possibly on-going collaborations, in cancer genetics research with investigators at any of the CGN centers or their secondary institutions:
